Draperies – priced at “your best offer”
Until the end of December, the Market Place is featuring brand new, “upper line”, ready to hang or install on track, draperies donated by Alan Morikawa of Morikawa Drapery & Carpets for “your best offer” prices. These draperies are hand sewn, self lined, cotton/polyester blend, in solid fabrics of Ivory, Off White or Cream colors. They usually sell for $20-$25 per yard, not including material & shipping. If needed, rods are available (made or custom made) at Morikawa Drapery and they can install. Morikawa Drapery can also make custom made draperies, and is willing to give 25-30% Temple discount. Call the Temple office to arrange a time to come by to take a look at these draperies. All sales are donations to the Temple.

Description: Like new, a clay display mask with a red cord for hanging, 8 inches in height. Noh is a Japanese theatrical music, drama and dance dating from the 14th century. Masks used for theatre drama were carved from a single piece of Japanese cypress wood and carved to the actor’s face. Actors were men. Performers donned elegant costumes and sophisticated mask. This ornamental mask is known as the Onna – character of a woman. Blackened teeth in the early centuries signified health, beauty and aristocratic status. Since 1955, various forms of Noh performances were registered as an Intangible Cultural Heritage with UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).

Description: Known by many names, Xanthosoma Brasiliense (botanical), Leaf of Life and Tahitian Spinach; it is not Tahitian nor a taro. It is a perennial native to the West Indies. These plants usually grow up to 3 feet high but can grow to a height of 5 feet. It may be irritating if eaten uncooked because of the calcium oxalate crystals all over the plant; however, when cooked for 10 minutes it is like spinach or luau dishes it is rich in vitamins A, C and phosphorus. The 3 large plants are about 15 inches in height and the 2 small plants are about 10 inches high, They thrive in moderate shade and semi-moist soil.

Daily, heavily mist or hold the tillandsia under running water or rain; turn up-side-down and shake off excess water to prevent rot. Keep in indirect sunlight.

Shake off excess water before returning the tillandsia to the planter. The hairline crack in the bottom of the planter aids in the drainage of any excess water embedded in the sealed gravel. Keep in a well-ventilated area with indirect sunlight. The bowl measures 9′ in diameter and the highest point of the Shisa is 6 1/2″ from the table top.
