Updated information regarding COVID-19 response

Hybrid Sunday Service will begin from June 6.  You can continue joining the service through Zoom.  If you would like to attend the service in person, please contact the office or fill out the reservation form from here beforehand. Mahalo! Hope to see you!

  • Temple Office and Nokotsudo (Columbarium) are open during business hours on Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.  Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays from 8am to 1pm.  Please wear a mask & carefully follow signs while in the temple property.  
  • We restarted Sunday Services from July 5.  There are a limited number of seats available for in-person service.  Please RSVP to the office if you wish to participate in the service in-person. We ask that you read the Certification Notice (https://www.moiliilihongwanji.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Covid-19-Certification-Notice-Temple-Hondo.pdf) before entering the Hondo (Main Temple). 
  • Sunday Service is also available through online (Zoom).  If you wish to attend the service online, please contact the office and we will send you the service invitation by email. 
  • Memorial Service can be held either in-person (for small family) or through online.  If you wish to hold the service online, please fill out the “Online Memorial Service Request Form” which can be found here https://www.moiliilihongwanji.org/
  • Minister’s care home visits are suspended until further notice.  

Please keep in mind that higher risk individuals (older people 65+, those with compromised immune systems or other underlying medical conditions, etc.) are still urged to stay home to the greatest extent possible.

Information regarding the Funeral/Memorial Service in the Temple

Moiliili Hongwanji Mission follows Federal, State & County mandates and recommendations or guidelines to determine when it will be safe to resume in-person services and activities at the temple. Please keep in mind that higher risk individuals (older people 65+, those with compromised immune systems or other underlying medical conditions, etc.) are urged to stay home to the greatest extent possible.

Following the directives and recommendations from HHMH Headquarters, Moiliili Hongwanji will:

  • Conduct only the following religious services: Bedside /Makuragyo services, other end of life related services, Funeral services. Other in-person services and activities will not be held until further notice.
  • Temple Hondo /Main Sanctuary can be used only for the above services. These services must be conducted with less than 10 people, physical distancing, and other precautions as directed by the Federal, State and County mandates.
  • Conduct Online Memorial Service upon request. Please go to www.moiliilihongwanji.org to request a service.
  • Continue providing religious messages and announcements through its website, Facebook, and White Way Newsletter.
  • Continue White Way Radio Program. Every Saturday morning from 7:45am to 8:00am on KZOO at channel AM1210.
  • Comply with minimum basic operations until further notice.
