PICNIC


The four Jodo Shinshu temples that make up the Honolulu District (Hawaii Betsuin, Moiliili Hongwanji, Jikoen Hongwanji, and Windward Buddhist Temple), are once again teaming up for an intergenerational picnic at Magic Island.

Honolulu District temple members, affiliated group participants, and friends are all welcome to register and attend!

Location: Picnic sites 38 and 39 at Magic Island, Ala Moana Beach Park.


Tentative Schedule

8:00 a.m.Help with set-up, if able
9:00 a.m.Service led by Rev. Yuika Hasebe
9:30 a.m.Ice Breaker – Break up into Zodiac Sign groups
9:45 a.m.Group Icebreaker Game – “What Peace Means to Us”
10:45 a.m.Fun Activities/Games (chaired by Jikoen, Betsuin BWA, Moiliili)
11:45 a.m.Lunch – Bring your own or Potluck
12:30 p.m.More Fun Activities (chaired by Windward Buddhist Temple & Betsuin)
1:45 p.m.Everyone help clean-up
2:00 p.m.Aloha!


Bring your own drinks, sunscreen, chairs, mats & pop-up tents — no stakes (only 10 total tents allowed).

Moiliili will have a potluck. Please sign up for potluck or pay $8.00 per person to help defray lunch costs.

If you’re planning to attend, be sure to sign up at the Temple Office.
