Yukata Dressing Demonstration

A yukata is a style of traditional Japanese wear, most commonly worn in the summer. The light cotton yukata makes it an excellent choice for Bon Odori festivals held during the summer season. In this video, Mrs. Edlyn Okano (Bando Shihonami) and Mrs. Edna Muneto (Bando Mieji), both certified professional Japanese dance instructors, demonstrate the detailed art of yukata dressing. Mrs. Edna Muneto and Mrs. Edlyn Okano are the wife and daughter of Rev. Tatsuo Muneto, former minister at Moiliili Hongwanji Buddhist Temple. Mahalo Edna & Edlyn!

Demonstration of the wearing of the Yukata, just in time for summer Bon-Odori festivals.
